Interesting case with a tumour in distal bile duct

20 Aug, 2020

Cancer care continues in times of COVID pandemic. Interesting case with a tumour in distal bile duct and a stone in proximal biliary tree managed successfully with surgery (pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy with stone clearance). Pylorus preservation during surgery helps patients eat normally after after surgery with preserved gastric capacity compared to whipple operation with reduced metabolic side effects of surgery. With a dedicated team taking care of patients and hand holding them, the patients are able to start walking soon after surgery and recover faster.
